Basic Description of Press Nuts

    Press nuts are a new type of fastener primarily used on metal sheets to provide high-strength threads for supporting and securing circuit boards.

Product Features of Press Nuts 

 Press nuts are circular, with one end being cylindrical and the other end featuring knurled teeth. The knurled teeth are used to press into the sheet, with one end flush with the sheet, leaving no visible traces of work, while the other end protrudes from the sheet to support the circuit board. They feature simple installation, low cost, and a compact design.

Specifications of Press Nuts

  Common models of press nuts: M2.5-M12. Due to different thread sizes, their opening dimensions, heights, and other parameters vary. Below are the detailed specifications:
   Due to variations in sheet thickness, multiple models are available. M3-M5 used on 0.8-1mm sheets are designated as -0; those used on 1-1.4mm sheets are designated as -1; and those used on sheets thicker than 1.4mm are designated as -2. For M6 press nuts, -0 is used on 1.2-1.4mm sheets, -1 on 1.4-2.3mm sheets, and -2 on sheets thicker than 2.3mm. Materials: carbon steel 12L15, stainless steel 303, stainless iron 416. Designations: carbon steel S, stainless steel CLS, stainless iron SP.
   Bottom hole dimensions: M2, M2.5, and M3 all require a 4.3mm bottom hole. The nut value is 4.22mm. For M4, the bottom hole is 5.4mm, and the nut C value is 5.38mm. For M5, the bottom hole is 6.4mm, and the nut C value is 6.38mm. D and SP type press nuts are specifically designed for stainless steel materials. Other specifications are the same as metric standards. Representation method: For example, S-M3-1-ZI indicates: 1. Material is carbon steel (ordinary steel); 2. Thread specification is M3; 3. -1 indicates the nut A value is 0.97mm, suitable for sheet thickness of 1.0-1.2mm; 4. Surface treatment is white zinc plating. Shank codes: 0 - suitable for sheet thickness 0.8mm; 1 - suitable for sheet thickness 1.0-1.2mm; 2 - suitable for sheet thickness 1.5-2.0mm.
